The spokesperson for Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), Abu Hamza, reported that three days ago, a medical team from the movement intervened to prevent a suicide attempt by a captive at one of its facilities.

 

He stated that the medical team successfully saved the detainee's life, who had attempted suicide due to his psychological condition. This incident occurred after the Netanyahu government imposed new conditions that disrupted and delayed negotiations for his release.

 

Abu Hamza noted that the detainee was scheduled for release as part of a group eligible under the initial phase of the prisoner exchange deal with the occupation.

 

In response to this incident, Al-Quds Brigades has decided to enhance security and safety measures for all detainees.
