The Sudanese Armed Forces announced on Wednesday their control over several locations in the eastern part of Khartoum state, with reports from the "Al-Sudani" newspaper confirming their recapture of Khartoum International Airport.
Sudanese military spokesperson, Nabil Abdullah, stated on the armed forces' official Facebook page that the army has successfully secured the western side of the Manshiya Bridge, which links Khartoum to the eastern Nile region.
Abdullah further mentioned that the military regained control of the Baqir area, located southeast of Khartoum, and took control of the Taiba camp, a stronghold of the "Rapid Support Forces" (RSF) in the Jabal Awliya locality of Khartoum state.
The Sudanese army also shared updates on Twitter, reporting ongoing advances in the eastern Khartoum axis, including the recapture of the First Infantry Division headquarters in Baqir.
In its statement, the army claimed to have inflicted significant losses on the RSF, both in terms of equipment and personnel, in the Baqir area.
Last Friday, the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the army, alongside supporting forces, had secured key government buildings, including the Presidential Palace, sovereign ministry buildings, and central Khartoum.
As of now, the conflict between the Sudanese army and the RSF continues to intensify, with both sides battling for control over key strategic locations in the capital.
