AMMAN — Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Qudah on Tuesday discussed ways to strengthen economic and trade relations and expand industrial and investment partnerships with his Emirati and Bahraini counterparts, on the sidelines of the "Make it in the Emirates" event in Abu Dhabi.

During the meeting with UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani Al Zeyoudi, Qudah emphasised the need to activate the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement to boost trade and joint investments. He also highlighted the importance of facilitating the registration of Jordanian pharmaceuticals in the UAE market, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Qudah pointed to opportunities for cooperation in priority sectors, including industry, advanced technology, green energy and supply chains, in line with the Economic Modernisation Vision (EMV).

In a separate meeting with Bahrain’s Minister of Industry and Commerce Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Qudah explored ways to build on the outcomes of the joint higher committee and called for holding its next meeting in Amman 2026.

Both sides stressed the importance of expanding cooperation in food and pharmaceutical industries and logistics services, while boosting trade exchange, investment and technology transfer.

Qudah reaffirmed Jordan’s commitment to maintaining an attractive investment environment.

The ministers also highlighted the role of the private sector in advancing partnerships and cooperation in food security, energy and information technology, Petra reported.
