King Abdullah II commemorates 56th anniversary of Karameh Battle

On Thursday, His Majesty King Abdullah II underscored that the valorous battles and sacrifices of the Arab Army will forever be a source of pride for every citizen of Jordan.
 
In a post on his "X" platform account commemorating the 56th anniversary of the Battle of Karameh, His Majesty stated, "The struggles and sacrifices of the Arab Army will remain as badges of honor and dignity for every Jordanian, constituting an integral part of our history and identity, which we hold sacred."
 
"On this momentous occasion, as we commemorate the Battle of Karameh, the bravery of the armed forces stands as a strong shield and a safe fortress for dear Jordan," he added.

The Battle of Karameh, which occurred 56 years ago, showcased the resilience of the Jordanian Armed Forces who won the battle against the Israeli Occupation. Lasting 15 hours, it resulted in heavy casualties for the Israeli Occupation Forces, with around 250 soldiers killed and 450 wounded, along with significant vehicle and equipment losses. Jordan lost 86 brave soldiers, with many more injured.
 
March 21 is commemorated annually in Jordan to honor the Battle of Karameh, celebrating the valor of the Jordanian army and its commitment to defending the nation and its causes.
