Fayez, in meeting with tribal representatives, calls for unified front against Israeli plans

The Jordan Times

AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Monday called for confronting any settlement plans and operations in the region threatening Jordan's security, stability and national constants, whether through the "deal of the century" or other Israeli plans.

During his meeting at the Senate with a number of representatives of Jordanian tribes from Amman, Fayez said that confronting these plans and settlements can only take place through joint efforts to strengthen the national front and the cohesion of the Jordanian social fabric while standing behind His Majesty King Abdullah’s leadership.

He also stressed the importance of forming a unified Arab position in rejection of such plans, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty, will not neglect its supreme national constants, Fayez said.

The Senate president highlighted King Abdullah’s clear words in this regard, as His Majesty has said: "Jordan is Jordan, Palestine is Palestine, the right of return and compensation for all refugees is a sacred right and the Hashemite custodianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem is a red line."

Fayez presented the most prominent challenges facing Jordan as a result of the conditions surrounding it, especially economic difficulties and their impact on citizens’ lives, in addition to the repercussions of the coronavirus pandemic.

His Majesty spares no effort to face these challenges and constantly directs the government to work on overcoming them and providing Jordanians with decent lives, he said.
