AMMAN — Cold conditions are forecast to prevail across most regions on Friday, with relatively mild weather expected in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.
The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said that low-altitude clouds will develop, with light showers likely during the morning hours in limited parts of the central and southwestern areas, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
In the early hours, precipitation over the high southern mountain peaks may occasionally fall as freezing rain. Winds will be northwesterly, moderate and active at times.
Cold weather will persist on Saturday in most areas, while conditions remain mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with clouds at various altitudes and moderate northwesterly to northeasterly winds.
A slight rise in temperatures is forecast for Sunday, though it will remain cold in most regions and mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Winds will be moderate northeasterly, shifting to northwesterly in the evening.
Temperatures in Amman on Friday are expected to range between 11°C and 2°C, compared with 22°C to 9°C in Aqaba.
