Cabinet takes 12 decisions to address COVID-19

Amman -- State Minister for Media Affairs, Amjad Adayleh, announced that, based on local and international developments of the new spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and in continuation of the precautionary and preventive measures previously taken by the government , the Cabinet decided today the following:
 
1- Closing down all institutions and official departments, except for vital sectors identifies by the Prime Minister, based on the recommendation of the concerned minister.
2- Ordering citizens not to leave homes, only in extreme cases.
3- Private sector to be shut down, excluding the entire health sector and vital sectors identified by the Prime Minister.
4- Preventing gathering of more than 10 people.
5- Restricting domestic travel.
6-Surgeries, medical visits to be stopped, and work to be limited to urgent cases and procedures.
7- Printing newspapers to be stopped as they contribute to transmitting infection.
8- Suspending public transportation.
9- Pharmacies, groceries, bakeries, food, medicine, water, electricity, and fuel supply chains to remain operational.
10- Malls and commercial complexes to be closed, except for food supply centers and pharmacies.
11- Quarantine camps to be set up on border crossings for Jordanians, and Jordanians abroad shall remain in their places.
12- All previous decisions to be applied as of Wednesday, 8 am, and for two weeks.
 
During a press briefing held at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management on Tuesday, Adayleh also announced that the government launched an educational website that provides full information about measures taken by the government to reduce the spread of the disease which is: http://www.corona.moh.gov.jo/.
