King, in Sharm El Sheikh, holds trilateral meeting with Egypt president, Bahrain monarch

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday held a trilateral meeting with Egypt President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Bahrain King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
 
Discussions at the meeting, attended by HRH Crown Prince Hussein, covered the deep-rooted ties between the three countries and maintaining coordination on issues of mutual concern, according to a Royal Court statement.
 
The leaders underscored the need to expand trilateral cooperation across all sectors, to fulfil the aspirations of their peoples and enhance regional security and stability.
 
The meeting, attended by HRH Prince Hashem Bin Abdullah, covered the need to continue working to step up joint Arab action to overcome the challenges of food security, rising prices, and energy costs, due to international developments.
 
 The latest regional developments were also discussed, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, with the leaders stressing the need to support the Palestinians as they seek their just and legitimate rights, leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the  June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital, on the basis of the two-state solution.
 
 Efforts to reach political solutions to regional crises, as well as efforts to counter terrorism within a holistic approach were discussed during the meeting.
 
The three leaders also welcomed the upcoming summit that will hosted by Saudi Arabia in July, bringing together the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council members states, and the leaders of Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, and the United States.
 
Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan and a number of senior Egyptian and Bahraini officials attended the meeting.
