9 COVID deaths, 1,199 virus cases recorded Wednesday

AMMAN — Nine COVID-19 deaths, and 1,199 virus cases, including 1,190 local infections, were recorded on Wednesday, bringing the caseload to 20,200, the government announced.
 
The new fatalities took the Kingdom's death toll to 131, according to a joint statement by the Prime Ministry and the Health Ministry.
 
The local cases comprised 870 infections in Amman, 115 in Zarqa, 81 in Irbid, 37 in Balqa, 28 in Karak, 25 in Aqaba, 18 in Maan, seven in Jerash, four in Mafraq, three in Madaba, one in Ajloun and one in Tafileh.
 
Meanwhile, 189 recoveries were registered during the past 24 hours, including 42 from Prince Hamzah Hospital, 124 from the Dead Sea isolation area, nine from Queen Alia Military Hospital and 14 in accredited private hospitals, the statement said.
 
A total of 20,507 random virus tests were also conducted on Sunday, bringing the cumulative number of coronavirus tests administered since the beginning of the crisis to 1,351,112.
