In a press release issued on Thursday, September 5, 2019, the government stressed that it is committed to dialogue with the Jordanian Teachers Syndicate to achieve the teachers' demands in a way that would not negatively affect the national interest and students' right to learn.

The statement revealed that the government had previously held several meetings with the Syndicate's board to reach solutions to the demands put forward, where the meetings resulted in approving practicing the educational professions law, which would grant a 250% raise for teachers based on the quality of the performance.

The statement stressed the government's keenness to improve the educational environment, for students and teachers alike, but in return will not tolerate the application of the provisions of the law in case the educational process and the public services and facilities are negatively affected.

The government has also warned against any attempt to exploit teachers' sit-in for the benefit of agendas or interests outside the teachers' demands, away from priorities for improving the educational process.
