AMMAN — The Amman Magistrates Court on Monday began hearing a cybercrime case that involves new amendments to the Cyber Crimes Law, No. 17 of 2023, which came into effect in September.
In the said case, two defendants are accused of disseminating false information via an audio recording related to a catastrophic earthquake, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Following the approval of the new law, the Judicial Council appointed 75 judges and prosecutors in all courts and prosecutor offices to oversee cybercrime-related investigations and cases.
