AMMAN — Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi on Wednesday inaugurated a public park in Zarqa Camp, following directives issued by His Majesty King Abdullah as part of the Royal initiatives.
The park, which includes safe children’s play areas, shaded seating, fencing and a football pitch with artificial turf, is expected to serve as a recreational outlet for residents of the camp and surrounding areas, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Zarqa Governor Firas Abu Qaoud and Director of the Department of Palestinian Affairs Rafiq Khirfan attended the inauguration.
Issawi also inspected the rehabilitation of the Arab Bank Garden, implemented under Royal initiatives in partnership with Arab Bank in response to long-standing community demands.
The project, which dates back more than 25 years, reflects cooperation between Royal initiatives and the private sector within the framework of corporate social responsibility.
The upgraded site includes a two-storey Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation branch in Zarqa, featuring multi-purpose halls, cultural and educational facilities for children and youth, and accessibility for persons with disabilities.
Zarqa Municipality will oversee the operation of the park.
In addition, Issawi reviewed progress on the military school project in Russeifa District, which reached 80 per cent completion.
The school will include 30 classrooms, laboratories and administrative facilities.
He also inspected the sports city project in Russeifa, launched under Royal directives to support youth and community development.
In remarks to the press, Issawi said that Royal initiatives continue to implement His Majesty’s directives across the Kingdom to address citizens’ priorities and improve service delivery, noting that the projects complement national development programmes and aim to achieve tangible improvements in social well-being.
