AMMAN — Tourism revenues rose by 17.2 per cent in August 2026, reaching $1,139.4 million, compared with the same month last year, according to preliminary data released by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ).

 

Tourism receipts also increased by 2.9 per cent to $5,557.6 million.

 

During the first eight months of 2026, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

 

The data showed that tourism revenues from Arab visitors rose by 16.3 per cent and those from Asian visitors by 9.5 per cent during the eight-month period.

 

Revenues from expatriate Jordanians declined by 5.9 per cent, while receipts from American visitors fell by 17.1 per cent, European visitors by 23.7 per cent and other nationalities by 39.9 per cent.

 

Meanwhile, tourism expenditure by Jordanians and residents abroad increased by 4.1 per cent in August, reaching $204.8 million.

 

During the first eight months of the year, outbound tourism spending fell by 5.9 per cent to $1,359 million.
