AMMAN — The Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) and the Business Association of Georgia (BAG) on Sunday signed an agreement to establish the joint "Jordanian-Georgian Business Council", in the presence of Georgian Ambassador to the Kingdom Archil Dzuliashvili.
The agreement, aims to enhance economic, investment and trade relations between the two countries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
JBA Vice President Osama Imseeh said that Jordanian-Georgian relations continue to grow.
He added the joint council represents a strategic step to expand bilateral investments and partnerships through visits and economic events, particularly in the technology, renewable energy, tourism, agriculture, and education sectors, according to a statement by the JBA.
He highlighted that Jordan is implementing strategic projects to strengthen economic cooperation with Georgia, underlining the importance of improving air transport and increasing trade between the two countries.
Dzuliashvili said the establishment of the council highlights both countries’ commitment to strengthening economic cooperation, while commending Jordan’s economic stability and investor-friendly environment.
Meanwhile, BAG Executive Director Levan Vepkhvadze said the association includes more than 500 companies and seeks to double trade volumes and promote joint investments, particularly in the energy, hydrogen, industrial and mining sectors.
He urged Jordanian businessmen to capitalise on the investment opportunities available in Georgia.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Investment presented the investment projects and opportunities available in the Kingdom, as well as the advantages and incentives offered to investors under the law.
The Industrial Estates Company, Aqaba Development Corporation, and the Jordanian Free and Development Zones Group highlighted the investment benefits and incentives available in the Kingdom.
