AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah held a phone call on Monday with United States President Donald Trump.

 

The call touched on the overall situation in the region and the need to achieve comprehensive de-escalation that restores regional stability, with His Majesty emphasising the pivotal role of the United States in driving the process of de-escalation, according to a Royal Court statement.

 

The King also condemned the armed attack that targeted the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner, at which President Trump and a number of members of the US administration were present, the statement said.
