Argentina designates Hamas as terrorist amid 'Israeli' relations uplift

Roya News

The Argentine presidency announced on Friday the designation of the Palestinian Hamas movement as a "terrorist organization," amidst improving relations between President Javier Milley and Israeli Occupation, as reported by the American network "ABC."

This decision by Argentina coincides with ongoing Israeli Occupation brutal attacks on Gaza, which have resulted in the deaths of over 38,000 people, mainly women and children, according to Gaza's Ministry of Health.

During his visit to the occupied Palestinian territories, President Milley expressed his intention to relocate Argentina's embassy to Jerusalem.

The presidential office's decision highlighted Hamas's close ties with Iran, which Argentina holds responsible for two deadly attacks on Jewish targets in the country, notably the 1994 bombing of the Jewish Community Center in Buenos Aires that killed 85 people and injured hundreds, marking the deadliest attack in modern Argentine history. Another attack on the Israeli Occupation embassy in Buenos Aires in 1992 claimed over 20 lives.

The Argentine judiciary has accused members of the Lebanese Hezbollah group of perpetrating these attacks.

It's important to note that the United States, Britain, the European Union, and other countries had already classified Hamas as a terrorist organization prior to October 7th events.
