AMMAN — The government on Saturday launched a new awareness campaign titled "Serving You Is Our Duty", aimed at fostering a culture of integrity, transparency and citizen-focused service across public institutions.
The initiative, led by the Public Sector Modernisation Unit at the Prime Ministry and implemented by the Institute of Public Administration (IPA), was inaugurated by Minister of State for Public Sector Modernisation Khair Abu Sailik during a ceremony attended by secretaries-general and department heads, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
“This is not just a campaign launch; it’s a cornerstone for building a public sector culture rooted in honesty and service to the citizen,” Abu Sailik said.
He stressed that the government is intentionally reshaping the public administration framework around competence, accountability, and transparency, adding that laws and strategies can only succeed when supported by a strong institutional culture.
Minister of Government Communications Mohammad Momani also addressed the event, describing the campaign as a key component of Jordan’s broader administrative, political, and economic modernisation efforts.
“The partnership between the Ministry of Government Communications and the IPA reflects a shared commitment to informing citizens about institutional progress and building public trust in government performance,” Momani said.
He also highlighted the role of media in promoting professionalism and excellence among civil servants and in cultivating a service-oriented mindset.
Digital transformation, he added, is streamlining processes while reducing costs and curbing irregularities. “Each step toward automation enhances both efficiency and transparency,” he noted.
Momani also said that the campaign seeks not only to spotlight institutional success stories but also to identify and address operational gaps, paving the way for continuous improvement. He commended the efforts of the IPA and all stakeholders involved in driving public sector modernisation.
IPA Director General Siham Khawaldeh described the campaign as a major stride toward building a modern and responsive public administration. “We aim to redefine the relationship between civil servants and the community through a culture based on trust, respect, and tangible results,” she said.
Khawaldeh also presented a summary of the institute’s leadership development initiatives and training programmes, including the launch of the Government Leadership Centre in 2019.
Director of the Public Sector Modernisation Unit Osama Telfah said the campaign’s implementation would rely on structured planning, targeted training, and ongoing performance evaluations.
