AMMAN — A delegation from Syria’s Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management, led by the deputy minister for emergency affairs, on Wednesday visited the Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF).

The visit was paid in recognition of the role of the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army (JAF) in helping extinguish recent wildfires across several areas in Syria, highlighting the close ties and ongoing cooperation between the two countries in times of crisis, according to a JAF statement.

The delegates commended the “rapid response and professionalism” of the Jordanian personnel, noting that their efforts were instrumental in containing the fires and preventing their spread.

They also praised the skill and dedication of the pilots and crews who carried out the humanitarian and relief missions.

The RJAF commander stressed that the support provided reflects the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the JAF, and embodies the army’s mission of delivering humanitarian and relief assistance.

Jordan will remain a steadfast partner to its neighbours and other nations in confronting disasters and emergencies, he stressed.

At the end of the visit, both sides reiterated the "deep-rooted" Jordanian-Syrian relations and expressed their commitment to boosting military cooperation and sharing expertise, particularly in disaster response and crisis management.

Several JAF officers attended the meeting.
