US Embassy in Tripoli has denied claims that Washington is working on a plan to relocate Palestinians from Gaza to Libya, dismissing a report by NBC News as false.

 

“The report of alleged plans to relocate Gazans to Libya is untrue,” the embassy said Sunday on X. Libya’s Tripoli-based Government of National Unity has not commented.

 

NBC News reported May 16 that the Trump administration is considering relocating up to one million Palestinians to Libya, citing five sources familiar with the matter.

 

The plan reportedly involves unfreezing billions in Libyan assets in exchange for hosting the displaced population.
