AMMAN — Minister of Government Communications and official spokesperson Mohammad Momani reaffirmed the strength of Jordan-Egypt relations, calling the alliance a cornerstone of regional stability and cooperation.

In an interview with the Middle East News Agency, Momanihighlighted the “direct coordination at multiple levels” between Amman and Cairo, rooted in what he described as a shared commitment to addressing escalating regional challenges.

He credited the close ties to the strong personal relationship and mutual trust between His Majesty King Abdullah and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi. “Jordan has always viewed Egypt as a central pillar of regional security.”

The minister also stressed that the two countries maintain near-identical positions, particularly on the Palestinian cause. “Our stances are closely aligned to the point of near identity.”

“We will not allow the extremist Israeli right to undermine the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, nor permit attempts at forced displacement or starvation. Both nations act with rationality and a firm commitment to the interests of their peoples and Palestinian resilience.”

Momani voiced Jordan’s support for international mediation efforts, particularly the joint Egyptian-Qatari-American initiative, stressing the importance of Egypt’s role in ending theaggression, ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid, and facilitating peace negotiations.

Rejecting accusations that Jordan and Egypt have obstructed aid deliveries to Gaza, Momani called such claims “false and illogical.” He emphasised that both countries are deeply workingin ensuring that Palestinians receive the support they need to live in dignity.

Highlighting long-standing bilateral cooperation, Momanipointed to the work of the Egyptian–Jordanian Joint Higher Committee, which manages joint initiatives in transport, energy, gas, and trade.

“While some projects are on track, others require accelerated implementation.”

He also cited ongoing growth in energy and electricity interconnection, trade, and investment, with enhanced cooperation in key sectors such as pharmaceuticals.
