Six students drown, 24 injured in Alexandria school trip beach accident

Six students lost their lives and 24 others were injured in a drowning accident at Abu Talat beach in Alexandria, Egypt, on Saturday.
 
The students were participating in a group trip organized by an academy specializing in aviation hospitality.
 
Emergency response
Egyptian ambulance services and the Emergency and Ambulance Care Sector responded immediately, dispatching 16 fully equipped ambulances to the scene. Three of the injured were treated on-site, while 13 were transported to Agami Specialized Hospital and eight to Al-Amreya General Hospital. All patients are receiving treatment for drowning-related asphyxia under the supervision of specialized medical teams.
 
Health ministry statement
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar is closely monitoring the emergency response and has emphasized the ministry’s full support for the injured and their families. Rescue teams continue to manage the situation and monitor developments closely.
 
Call for beach safety
The Ministry of Health urged the public to follow safety guidelines at beaches, particularly during group trips, stressing that prevention is the most effective way to protect lives.
