AMMAN — Established in 1999 through a strategic Jordanian-American partnership between Arab Potash Company and Albemarle Corporation, Jordan Bromine Company (JBC) is a leading global producer of bromine and bromine derivatives and the world's second-largest exporter of bromine. Through continuous expansion and operational excellence, the company has strengthened its position in international markets while meeting growing global demand.
 
Managed by a highly skilled Jordanian workforce, JBC is committed to quality, innovation, operational excellence, and occupational safety. During 2024–2025, the company implemented several sustainability initiatives that significantly reduced carbon emissions, increased energy conservation efficiency by 88 percent, and enhanced industrial water treatment and recovery processes.
 
JBC plays a significant role in Jordan's economy. Between 2020 and 2025, the company's exports exceeded JD1.9 billion, representing more than 4 percent of Jordan's total exports. During the same period, JBC generated JD448 million in local procurement, invested JD179 million in growth and development projects, and contributed JD151 million in government revenues.
 
The company employs 773 people, with 48 percent of its workforce drawn from local communities, and supports approximately 300 indirect jobs. Through corporate social responsibility initiatives valued at around JD9 million, JBC invests in education, training, healthcare, women's and youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and community development programs across the Southern Jordan Valley.
 
To support future growth and operational excellence, JBC continues to invest in strategic development projects, including the NEBO Project (JD39.7 million), the first phase of the EAGLE Project (JD20.6 million), and the LAVA Project (JD7.8 million), all aimed at enhancing production efficiency, increasing capacity, improving reliability, and strengthening the company's long-term competitiveness.
