AMMAN — Jordan has endorsed a joint statement issued by Egypt, Qatar and Turkey, the mediators in efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, backing their condemnation of Israel's continued violations of the ceasefire agreement.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Jordan condemned Israel’s violations in Gaza including attacks on healthcare facilities and the killing of civilians, including women and children.

The ministry spokesperson said that the Israeli actions constituted a "blatant violation" of international law and international humanitarian law.

The spokesperson called for an immediate end to the Israeli attacks and violations and urged that sufficient and sustained humanitarian aid be allowed into the Gaza Strip without obstruction.

He also stressed the need to ensure full protection for civilians, medical facilities and humanitarian personnel.

The spokesperson also said that the international community must fulfill its responsibilities by pressing Israel to meet its obligations under international law.

He said that such efforts should ensure implementation of all provisions of the US president's Gaza plan and prevent any setback to efforts aimed at stabilising the enclave and achieving a comprehensive de-escalation leading to a permanent ceasefire and an end to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
