AMMAN — The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) on Monday reiterated its commitment to sustaining the hot meals and community kitchens initiative in Gaza, which has been ongoing since the start of the Israeli war on October 7th.

The initiative is supported by the Jordanian Campaign, the Khair Jordan for Development Endowment, the Irbid Chamber of Commerce, the Jordanian Committee for Zakat Support, as well as individual and institutional donors who have joined efforts to secure funding and ensure the project’s continuity, according to a JHCO statement.

Since the outbreak of the war, the initiative has delivered 1,043,920 hot meals to the people of Gaza, the statement said, adding that the meals are distributed daily to displaced families, hospital patients, and residents of schools turned into shelters, ensuring food reaches the most vulnerable amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

The project highlights Jordan’s steadfast commitment to supporting Gaza’s resilience by combining urgent food relief with long-term sustainability, the statement read.

JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli described the initiative as a renewed humanitarian effort built on the trust of donors and local partners. He stressed that the project enables Jordan to provide daily support to hundreds of families in Gaza’s shelters, hospitals, and schools.

“The continuation of this project sends a message of humanitarian solidarity that transcends all challenges, reflecting the values of compassion and generosity that distinguish Jordan, both its leadership and people,” Shibli said.
