Trump responded to Knesset protest by Odeh and Cassif, saying “It was effective.”
Lawmakers briefly disrupted his speech with Gaza protest signs before being removed by security.
US President Donald Trump briefly responded to the disruption of his speech at the Knesset on Monday by Arab Knesset Member (MK) Ayman Odeh and left-wing Jewish Ofer Cassif.
After security quickly intervened and removed the two MKs from the chamber, Trump resumed his address, commenting sharply, “It was effective,” in reference to the swift action of ‘Israeli’ security in quelling the protest.
In a dramatic moment, Odeh and Cassif interrupted Trump’s speech by holding signs condemning the offensive in Gaza, calling it “genocide.”
The protest was brief, as Knesset security promptly escorted the lawmakers out amid chants from some attendees.
Trump appeared unfazed by the incident and used it to express admiration for the rapid security response.
After his comment that drew attention from the audience, he continued his speech, praising his adviser Steve Witkoff for his role in reaching the ceasefire agreement.
