AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Ahmad Huneiti on Saturday received Chief of Defence of the Netherlands Armed Forces Gen. Onno Eichelsheim and his accompanying delegation at the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) General Command.
A formal military reception was held in honour of the visiting delegation, including an inspection of the honour guard, according to a JAF statement.
During the meeting, Huneiti and Eichelsheim discussed ways to strengthen military cooperation, enhance partnership ties, and exchange expertise in training and capacity-building, in line with the shared interests of both armed forces.
The two sides also reviewed the latest regional and international developments, as well as common security challenges. Both stressed the importance of deepening cooperation to effectively address these threats.
In the presence of senior Jordanian military officers and the Dutch defence attaché, the two generals attended a series of military briefings that highlighted various aspects of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of defence and security industries.
Huneiti reiterated the depth of military relations between Jordan and the Netherlands, underscoring the importance of continued coordination and the exchange of knowledge to boost defensive capabilities and develop military competencies.
Eichelsheim commended the professionalism of the Jordan Armed Forces and lauded their pivotal role in promoting regional security and stability, as well as their long-standing humanitarian contributions.
