AMMAN — Senate President Faisal Fayez on Thursday condemned a terrorist attack outside the Sri Lankan Embassy in Amman that killed Corporal Jawad Salaytah and injured Second Lieutenant Firas Ananzeh, both members of the Public Security Directorate (PSD).
Fayez stressed that those involved in terrorist acts must face severe punishment and urged citizens to report to security agencies any individuals suspected of embracing extremist ideologies or supporting Daesh and other terrorist groups.
He also called for firm measures against those inciting strife, promoting hate speech or seeking to undermine national principles and social cohesion, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Fayez also stressed that the Kingdom’s security and stability remain a red line, urging citizens to remain vigilant against attempts by terrorist groups and extremists to undermine the country's stability.
Fayez extended his condolences to the deceased officer’s family, relatives and loved ones, wishing them patience and solace, and prayed for the injured officer’s speedy recovery.
