AMMAN — A Jordanian delegation, headed by Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Imad Hijazeen, on Saturday concluded an official working visit to Japan, wrapping up a series of high-level engagements aimed to expand Jordan’s presence in the Japanese market and enhance ties across tourism, travel, aviation, and media sectors.
According to the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), the final day featured an extensive meeting with Japanese media representatives, culminating in the launch of the "Friends of Jordan" Media Network, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The platform aims to build a sustainable connection with Japanese journalists and media outlets, promoting Jordan's historical, cultural, and natural attractions while challenging regional stereotypes.
Throughout the visit, discussions focused on enhancing institutional cooperation, expanding B2B partnerships between tour operators, and exploring direct air connectivity options with Japanese carriers.
The talks also focused on refining travel itineraries to extend average visitor stays and maximise economic returns for local destinations.
By combining strategic marketing, enhanced flight routing, and media outreach, the delegation sought to transform initial interest into long-term travel demand, positioning Jordan as a premier destination for Japanese travelers.
Jordanian Ambassador to Japan Nasser Shraideh, Jordan Hotel Association Vice Chairman Hani Dabbas, and Inbound Tour Operators Association Chairman Nabih Riyal attended meetings during the visit.
