AMMAN — Palestinian Ambassador to Jordan Attallah Khairy commended the efforts of Jordan’s Ministry of Interior and Public Security Directorate in facilitating travel for Palestinians crossing the King Hussein Bridge.
Khairy told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on Sunday that several visits by Interior Minister Mazen Faraya to the bridge, along with his direct oversight of operations, have significantly eased travel in both directions, reduced difficulties for passengers, expedited transactions, and shortened waiting times.
He conveyed the gratitude of the Palestinian leadership and people for Jordan’s continuous efforts to provide all possible facilities for Palestinians using the crossing.
Khairy highlighted the deep and enduring ties between Jordan and Palestine under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
He described Jordan as “the pure lung from which the Palestinian people breathe” and called the King Hussein Bridge “a gateway for Palestinians to all parts of the world,” noting that Jordanians spare no effort in facilitating Palestinian movement.
The ambassador also commended Jordan’s principled stance, under the king, government, and people, in supporting the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, emphasising that these positions remain steadfast and unwavering.
