Over 8,400 Jordanian aid trucks delivered to Gaza despite settlers' obstruction — JHCO

AMMAN — Jordan continues to deliver humanitarian assistance to Gaza despite repeated attempts by Israeli settlers to obstruct aid convoys, the Jordan Hashemite Charitable Organisation (JHCO) said on Monday.
JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli told Al Mamlaka TV that since the outbreak of the war, Jordan has dispatched around 8,455 trucks carrying humanitarian supplies to the besieged Strip. He noted that high-level coordination remains in place to ensure aid continues to reach those most in need in the coming weeks.
Shibli also highlighted the organisation’s cooperation with the Irbid Chamber of Commerce, which facilitated the distribution of 20,000 hot meals in northern Gaza in less than a month. He further called for broader humanitarian alliances to reinforce relief operations in the Strip.
Despite persistent challenges, Jordan has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining food and emergency aid deliveries to affected residents. On Monday, the JHCO announced the entry of its 193rd aid convoy into Gaza, comprising 59 trucks loaded with essential food supplies.
Jordan also runs two military field hospitals in Gaza, one in the Strip's north and was established in 2009 following the war in 2008, and the second is in Khan Younis in the south, which was established in November 2023 at the peak of the Israeli war of aggression on the coastal enclave that erupted on October 7, 2023. Besides the field hospitals in Gaza, the JAF established the Jordanian field hospital in Nablus in late November 2023.
The Kingdom, in cooperation with the World Central Kitchen, had also dispatched a mobile bakery with a production capacity of 3,500 loaves of bread per hour to Gaza. Other humanitarian programmes include the land bridge for aid delivery, the Restoring Hope Initiative, which provides prosthetics for amputees, and the evacuation of critical cases to Jordanian hospitals.
