AMMAN — Medical teams at the Jordanian military field hospital in south Gaza has treated dozens of injured individuals on Monday following Israeli airstrikes on Nasser Hospital.

According to a statement from the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army (JAF), the facility responded to a surge in casualties by providing emergency first aid, besides both major and minor surgical procedures.

Several patients were transferred to intensive care, while children, women, and civil defense personnel also received critical medical attention in the aftermath of the strikes, JAF said.

The Jordanian field hospital in Gaza’s Khan Yunis has been operational since November 20, 2023. Since its deployment, the hospital has handled more than 628,421 cases, according to JAF.

Staffed by specialists across all medical disciplines, the hospital aims to support the healthcare needs of Gaza’s residents and ease the burden on the local medical infrastructure during the ongoing conflict, the statement said.

Jordan runs another field hospital in Gaza’s north, which was established in 2009, following the war in 2008.
