AMMAN — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned an Israeli airstrike on the Nasser Medical Complex in southern Gaza as a “flagrant violation of international law and humanitarian principles.”
In a statement on Monday, the ministry described the attack, which killed and injured dozens of Palestinians, including journalists and aid workers, was as a breach of the 1949 Geneva Convention on the protection of civilians during wartime.
The ministry’s spokesperson, Sufyan Qudah, said the Kingdom rejects and strongly denounces Israel’s continued military operations in Gaza, denouncing the “systematic targeting of civilians, hospitals, medical teams, journalists, and essential civilian infrastructure across the besieged enclave.”
Qudah also condemned the ongoing destruction of vital facilities that provide basic services to Gaza’s population, and accused Israel of using blockade and starvation as tools to force the displacement of Palestinians.
He also warned of the grave consequences of Israel’s escalating actions in Gaza and its continued violations in the occupied West Bank, warning that such developments risk further cycles of violence and instability across the region.
Qudah called on the international community to uphold its legal and moral responsibilities by pressuring Israel to immediately halt its assault on Gaza, ensure the entry of sufficient and sustained humanitarian aid, and support the Palestinian people’s legitimate right to establish an independent and sovereign state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
