AMMAN — The Southern Military Zone on Monday foiled an attempt by a drone to cross into the Kingdom, according to an official source at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army (JAF).

 

Border guards, in coordination with military security agencies, detected and tracked a drone attempting to infiltrate Jordanian airspace from the west during the early hours of the morning, the source said.

 

The source added that the drone was intercepted in accordance with the rules of engagement and was downed within Jordanian territory.

 

The JAF stressed its continued commitment to safeguarding the Kingdom’s borders, affirming that it will employ all available resources to prevent any form of infiltration or smuggling and to maintain Jordan’s security and stability.
