Press Association condemns Israeli attacks on journalists, aid workers in Gaza

AMMAN — The Jordan Press Association (JPA) has condemned the “heinous crime” committed by Israeli forces in Gaza, following two airstrikes that struck Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, killing at least 20 Palestinians, including several journalists and aid workers.

In a statement issued Monday, the JPA said the attacks represented a “blatant violation of international law and humanitarian principles,” citing the Fourth Geneva Convention, which mandates protection for civilians during times of war.

“The continued targeting of journalists, civilians, and humanitarian workers reflects a systematic policy aimed at silencing the truth and obscuring evidence of crimes against humanity,” the association said.

The JPA urged the international community to act, calling on global powers to assume their legal and moral responsibilities and to hold Israel accountable. It called for an immediate end to the military campaign and demanded that humanitarian aid be allowed to enter Gaza in sufficient and sustainable quantities.

The association also reiterated the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent state on their national land and to live free from violence and occupation.

“Journalists' and aid workers' blood will remain a witness to the brutality of these crimes, committed in full view of the international community,” the statement read.

“Silencing the word and the image will not erase the truth.”
