King discusses regional developments with Arab, world leaders

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah and Egypt President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, during a phone call on Saturday, discussed the dangerous developments in the region.
 
His Majesty reiterated his condemnation of the attacks on Jordanian territory, emphasising that Jordan will continue to take all measures to preserve its security and stability, and the safety of its citizens, A Royal Court statement said.
 
For his part, President Al Sisi expressed Egypt’s full support and solidarity with Jordan, noting his country’s strong condemnation of any violation of the sovereignty, security, and stability of Arab countries.
 
The two leaders stressed the need for respect of the sovereignty of states, and the importance of utilising dialogue and diplomatic channels to resolve tensions.
 
The King also underscored the need to intensify Arab efforts to mobilise an effective international position that would contribute to de-escalating the current situation in the region.
 
In another phone call on Saturday with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Majesty discussed the current dangerous developments in the region.
 
The two leaders reiterated their condemnation of the attacks on Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and a number of other Arab countries, which constitute a dangerous escalation and violation of international law, a Royal Court statement said.
 
The call also touched on the need to step up efforts to reach comprehensive calm, and to utilise dialogue and diplomatic solutions to end the escalation.
 
His Majesty on Saturday received a phone call from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the prime minister of Saudi Arabia.
 
The call covered current developments in the region, with His Majesty condemning the attack on Jordanian territory, and emphasising the need to continue taking all necessary steps to preserve the safety of citizens and protect the security and sovereignty of Jordan, according to a Royal Court statement.
 
The King expressed Jordan’s absolute solidarity and support for Arab countries in confronting any attacks that threaten their sovereignty, security, and stability.
 
The two sides also emphasised the need to stop the escalation and utilise dialogue to reduce tensions.
 
Also on Saturday, the King discussed developments in the region with Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani during a phone call.
 
The two leaders condemned Iran’s targeting of Jordan, Qatar, and other Arab countries, emphasising the need for an immediate end to the escalation, and the necessity of utilising dialogue to restore stability in the region and avoid further tensions, another Royal Court statement said.
 
The two leaders also emphasised the importance of maintaining bilateral coordination on necessary steps to protect the security and stability of both countries and sovereignty of their territories.
 
Also on Saturday, His Majesty received a phone call from Iraq Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al Sudani, during which they discussed ways to reduce regional escalation.
 
His Majesty condemned the attack on Jordanian territory, stressing that the Kingdom will continue to take all necessary steps to preserve the safety of its citizens and protect its security and sovereignty, a Royal Court statement said.
 
The King reiterated Jordan’s categorical rejection of any actions that undermine the sovereignty, security, and stability of Arab countries, stressing the need for restraint and dialogue to resolve crises and avoid escalation.
 
His Majesty on Saturday received a phone call from Kuwait Emir Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, during which they affirmed their condemnation of the attacks on Jordan, Kuwait, and Arab countries.
 
His Majesty emphasised the need to de-escalate tensions, respect the sovereignty of states, and use diplomacy and dialogue to restore stability to the region, another Royal Court statement said.
 
The King highlighted the need for continued coordination among Arab countries and active partners to confront any threats to the security of the region and the safety of its peoples.
 
His Majesty, during a phone call with Germany’s Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Saturday, called for stepping up international efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region.
 
During the call, His Majesty condemned the attack on Jordanian territory, stressing that the Kingdom will continue to take all necessary steps to preserve the safety of its citizens and protect its security and sovereignty, according to a Royal Court statement.
 
His Majesty emphasised the need to utilise dialogue and diplomatic channels to resolve tensions and end escalations.

The King also condemned any attacks on Arab countries, reiterating the need for restraint, respect for the sovereignty of states, and utilising diplomatic solutions to overcome crises and restore stability in the region.
