Jordan evacuates largest group of Gaza children for treatment

The Jordan Times

AMMAN — The Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army (JAF) on Wednesday carried out the seventh medical evacuation of children from Gaza as part of the "Jordanian Medical Corridor" humanitarian initiative.

Including 35 children accompanied by 72 family members, the latest group marked the largest medical evacuation since the initiative’s launch in March, according to a JAF statement.

With this mission, the total number of evacuated children has risen to 112, alongside 241 accompanying relatives.

The operation was conducted under Royal directives in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO).

Patients were transferred via the King Hussein Bridge under strict medical supervision and logistical arrangements, ensuring their safety and wellbeing throughout the journey.

Jordan continues to work towards evacuating more children in need of urgent medical care from Gaza and expediting their transfer for treatment. However, logistical and technical limitations faced by the World Health Organisation, along with other challenges, continue to hinder progress, the statement said.

The medical evacuation efforts, led by Jordan in support of the people of Gaza, began in early March following Royal directives, reaffirming the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to standing with the people of Gaza.
