'Israel' shifted two key government meetings on Sunday to what officials described as a “secret and fortified location” after its airstrikes in Yemen killed senior Houthi leaders, according to 'Israeli' media.
The Houthis announced on Saturday that their Prime Minister, Ahmed Ghalib Al-Rahawi, along with several ministers, had been killed in an 'Israeli' attack on the capital, Sanaa, two days earlier.
Channel 12 reported that both the weekly government meeting and a high-level Security Cabinet session were abruptly moved, with ministers notified of the new venue only shortly before convening.
Agenda items include expanding budgets for 'Israel’s' security agencies, the ongoing war in Gaza, the possibility of global recognition of a Palestinian state, and rising tensions with Lebanon and Syria.
Still, 'Israeli' media said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Security Cabinet ultimately limited its focus to one issue: a potential deal to secure the release of all captives held in Gaza. Despite mediators presenting a proposal that closely matched 'Israel’s' earlier demands, Netanyahu’s government dismissed it, seeking broader concessions.
Hamas has repeatedly signaled willingness to exchange all captives for a permanent ceasefire, an 'Israeli' withdrawal from Gaza, and the release of Palestinian prisoners. Netanyahu, however, has continued to set new conditions while pursuing his government’s stated goal of reoccupying Gaza.
