AMMAN — UNESCO has included the golden jubilee of Yarmouk University among its official observances for 2026–2027, in a move that reflects the university’s academic and research standing at both regional and international levels.
University President Malek Alsharairi said the inclusion constitutes international recognition of the institution’s five-decade journey and its role in promoting knowledge and culture, as well as its contributions to sustainable development and the enrichment of human civilisation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reproted.
He added that listing the golden jubilee among UNESCO’s official occasions underscores the need to sustain progress and academic excellence, and to pursue further scientific achievements, ensuring the university remains, as envisioned by the Hashemites, a hub for leadership and scholarship, and a centre attracting researchers and academics.
