The recent Iran-'Israel' war has created a new strategic reality in the Middle East that calls for Syria and Lebanon to reach peace agreements with 'Israel', US Special Envoy to Syria Tom Barrack said Sunday.

 

Speaking to Turkey’s state-run Anadolu Agency, Barrack stated that the conflict has opened a “new road” for regional diplomacy and emphasized the importance of formalizing peace on 'Israel’s' northern borders.

 

“President Ahmed al-Sharaa has indicated that he doesn't hate Israel… and that he wants peace on that border,” Barrack said, referring to Syria's leadership. “I think that will also happen with Lebanon. It’s a necessity to have an agreement with Israel.”
