Cabinet lowers land price for ‘Madouneh Project’

The Jordan Times

AMMAN — The Cabinet on Tuesday decided to lower the price of one dunum of land in Ghabawi to be sold to the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) to JD10,000, instead of JD20,000, to enable GAM to establish the “Madouneh Project”.

The total price of the 900-dunum land, which currently belongs to the Treasury, now stands at JD9 million, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The project aims at relocating multiple car showrooms to one location and creating space for used cars on a site in Madouneh area in east Amman.

Inaugurating two multi-purpose halls in Ohud and Shafa Badran, Amman Mayor Aqel Biltaji noted that the cost of the land will be deducted from money owed by the Treasury to GAM. The two halls, which both cost JD615,000, will be used to host national, religious, social and cultural events.
