During his meeting with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira on Monday, His Majesty King Abdullah II cautioned against the dire consequences of persisting with the Gaza war, highlighting its potential to bring about catastrophic outcomes for the entire region.

 

The King emphasized the urgent need for an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza, prioritizing the protection of civilians and ensuring the continuous delivery of humanitarian aid to the territory through all available channels.

 

His Majesty expressed gratitude for Brazil's stance in opposition to the Gaza war, its consistent support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), and its advocacy for the international community to maintain its backing for the UN agency. Additionally, he appreciated Brazil's support for the two-state solution.

 

The King reiterated that a just resolution to the Palestinian issue is indispensable for achieving peace and stability in the region.

 

Discussions during the meeting underscored the robust ties between Jordan and Brazil, underscoring the significance of leveraging these relations to advance collaboration across various sectors, particularly in the economic domain.

 

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, Director of His Majesty's Office, Dr. Jaafar Hassan, and Brazilian Ambassador to Jordan, Marcio Fagundes do Nascimento.
