AMMAN — The EU and the German Agency for International Cooperation held a workshop on Wednesday and Thursday to familiarise stakeholders with elements of the “Developing Continuous Lifelong Vocational and Technical Education and Training System (CTVET)”.
The workshop brought together 35 stakeholders from the education and private sectors, the UN, the Ministry of Education and business leaders to develop strategies and systems for CTVET, according to a joint statement.
The trainings were a part of an EU-funded programme meant to provide capacity-building, technical support and to strengthen social dialogue among ministries, civil society and “related institutions”, the statement added.
“The workshop aims at enabling technical and vocational education training specialists to develop system for CTVET for those employed and unemployed in the formal and informal vocational education training sector,” said Abdelbasit Saleh, a curricula development and training expert for the programme.
The workshop’s parent programme, “Technical Assistance to the Skills for Employment and Social Inclusion Programme for Jordan”, aims to support the implementation of the National Employment Strategy 2011-2020 as well as the Human Resources Development Strategy 2016-2025, according to the statement.
