Authorities have confirmed that recent deaths in Zarqa city were caused by poisoning from methyl alcohol, as investigations continue into the tragic incident.

 

According to a spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD), four individuals were hospitalized with similar symptoms on Thursday evening and Friday morning, and subsequently died.

 

A fifth person remains in critical condition. In response, an investigative team was formed, comprising experts from the Forensic Laboratories and Criminal Evidence Department, the Criminal Investigation Department, and Zarqa Police, working closely with the Forensic Medicine Department.

 

Following forensic examinations and laboratory analysis of samples taken from the victims, officials confirmed the presence of high levels of methyl alcohol in the bodies.

 

The spokesperson emphasized that investigations are ongoing to determine all details surrounding the incident. He also noted that no new cases with similar symptoms have been reported since Friday morning.

 

Authorities continue to urge the public to exercise caution and report any related symptoms promptly.
