AMMAN — Personnel from the Border Guards and the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) have seized “large amounts” of narcotic pills in a rocky area near the northern border, the Public Security Department (PSD) announced on Tuesday. AND staff received a tip off that an Arab national intended to bring drugs into the Kingdom.

 

The Border Guards were informed and subsequently searched the area to prevent the smuggling attempt. They eventually seized a bag of 250,000 pills, which was hidden in the rocky area, according to a PSD statement, which added that the seized drugs were referred to AND to proceed with the investigation and arrest anyone suspected of involvement.
