AMMAN — Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar received on Monday Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi, on the sidelines of the 20th Bled Strategic Forum.
Safadi conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah to the Slovenian leadership and expressed His Majesty’s appreciation for Slovenia’s supportive positions on the Palestinian people's right to freedom and statehood based on the two-state solution, as well as its calls for an end to the war on Gaza, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
At the forum, Safadi met also with Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob.
President Musar and Golob affirmed their commitment to increasing cooperation with Jordan and praised the pivotal role led by His Majesty in efforts to promote security, stability, and peace in the region, the statement said.
Safadi’s meetings with Slovenian leaders also went over ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries, regional developments, and efforts to reach a permanent ceasefire in Gaza that would end the aggression, famine, and the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe, according to the statement.
Meeting with his counterparts participating in the forum, Safadi emphasised the urgent need for the international community to act immediately to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza and end the resulting humanitarian disaster.
Safadi stressed that the Israeli government will not halt its “massacres in Gaza, its illegal actions in the occupied West Bank, or its attacks on Lebanon and Syria, unless it faces a unified international stance consistent with international law that holds it accountable and deters it.”
He warned of the continued failure to take the actions required by international law to confront Israel's violations of international and humanitarian law, including the use of starvation as a weapon, which has led to famine in Gaza, the statement said.
