AMMAN —The Audit Bureau organised a workshop entitled "The Added Value of Using Mixed Methods in Vocational Education Performance Audits: The Dutch Experience as a Model", presented by international expert Egbert Jongsma from the Netherlands.

Audit Bureau President Radhi Hamadeen stressed the importance of technical and vocational education in equipping the labour market with practical and technical skills, noting that ensuring equal opportunities in this field guarantees fair access, directs public resources towards optimal developmental outcomes and reflects the principle of value for money.

The workshop reviewed the Dutch experience in auditing vocational education using mixed methods, covering data on more than 1.5 million students, interviews with 310 students, 75 teachers and 20 training institutions, in addition to applying the "Student Journey" approach to assess factors affecting equal opportunities, according to Audit Bureau statement.

It also highlighted the integration of statistical analysis with field data, the involvement of stakeholders at all stages of the audit, the impact of disparities within institutions and the importance of clear standards to ensure balanced outcomes.
