Saturday, the Minister of State for Media Affairs and the official spokesperson for the government, Sakher Dudin, denied all rumors being circulated about the imposition of a total lockdown during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday.

Dudin added that the night curfew will remain, and citizens will be allowed to go to pray for Fajr, Maghrib and Isha prayers by foot.

During a press conference Wednesday, Dudin announced the Eid Al-Fitr holiday will begin May 11 until May 15.

He added that the reason for the five-day holiday was to allow citizens the opportunity to shop on Tuesday, May 11, and Wednesday, May 12, noting that the Eid Al-Fitr day was astronomically expected to fall on Thursday, May 13.

The cancellation of Friday lockdowns were also announced during the press conference.
