Nine 'Israeli' soldiers, including a battalion commander and a deputy division commander, were injured in an explosive device blast north of Gaza, according to Hebrew media reports.
'Israeli' Army Radio reported on Saturday that the explosion occurred during sweeping operations in the Shujaiya neighborhood, injuring nine soldiers from the Jerusalem Brigade. The soldiers sustained minor injuries.
Among the injured are the commander of Battalion 6310 and the deputy commander of Division 252. The incident took place late last night (Friday/Saturday).
Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth quoted an army spokesperson, who confirmed the injured soldiers were transported to a hospital for medical treatment, and their families have been notified.
Further details have not been disclosed by 'Israeli' media, as the 'Israeli' military enforces strict censorship on news regarding casualties and damage from its operations in Gaza, reportedly to maintain morale among the public.
As of Friday, the 'Israeli' military confirmed that 856 soldiers and officers have been killed since October 7, 2023, including eight since the resumption of operations in Gaza on March 18, 2025, according to official figures from the 'Israeli' military.
