The “Israeli” army Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi has ordered “increased vigilance" and preparedness for a variety of possible scenarios in which Iran could act against "Israel" – a report by Hebrew news outlet Walla said.
Security officials warned that the current strategic regional situation could push Iran to make a move against “Israel”, as it currently suffers from a hampered exchange rate and the recent negative developments with its allies in Lebanon and (formerly) Syria.
The report warned that Iran could take “extreme measures” against “Israel”, but said that officials see that as a “low-probability” scenario.
It added that Iran is also suffering from local protests and demonstrations, pollution, and electricity problems. Furthermore, the coming of Donald Trump’ administration on January 20 could push Iran to prevent a major change of strategic balance in the Middle East.
