Israeli Occupation Defense Minister Israel Katz warned that if Hezbollah fighters do not withdraw beyond the Litani River, a ceasefire agreement between the two sides will not be reached.

Katz also noted that the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) is working to ensure the return of northern residents to their homes.

According to the Israel Broadcasting Authority (IBA), "Israel" is expected to inform Washington that it will not withdraw from Lebanon after the 60-day deadline. It added that "Israel" will also relay to the US that it will prevent residents of Lebanese villages near the border from returning to their homes.

The ceasefire agreement between the Israeli Occupation and Hezbollah in Lebanon, which came into effect on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, stipulated a 60-day truce.

During this period, both parties were expected to withdraw their forces from southern Lebanon, particularly from areas north of the Litani River.
